My thank you run

Sunday 15th Jun Nearly 12 months ago to the day I had major surgery that turned my life around. I re looked at myself and decided I had the time right now! I have failed at loosing weight so many times over the years that I asked God what I should do. I heard a warm smile in his voice when he said, “Leeta, you know how to do it!”, and I burst out laughing, I knew exactly what he was talking about. 9 years ago I had helped my GP run cooking demonstrations at a Complete Health Improvement Programme (CHIP). I knew the science behind Whole food, plant based eating. I knew not to limit the quantity I ate and that I would aim for 10,000 steps per day. It worked, I started to loose weight, then I was healed enough to start exercising every day. My first walk was supposed to be 10 minutes, but 6 minutes had elapsed by the time I looked at my watch, so I turned and went home. Once I was healed enough I went back to Pilates three times per week. I was feeling wonderfully strong! Then I had a workplace injury and pain in my glutes, hamstrings and hips have been especially challenging and frustrating for me over the past 4 months. Twelve months ago I dreamt of being fit enough and strong enough to do this run to celebrate the completion of my healing journey, and to praise God for my health and function. My work has been a calling from God, caring for sick children and their families, this is a very important fund raiser, I’m looking forward to giving it all I’ve got!!! Share
