All children battling Neuroblastoma including my Nephew Zai Abdollahi
I have set myself a personal challenge for 2025 and am taking part in Run2Cure Neuroblastoma. Run2Cure is a charity fun run and raises funds for the aggressive childhood cancer neuroblastoma.
Neuroblastoma is a cancer affecting young children with the average age being just 2 years of age and survival rates for aggressive neuroblastoma being just 1 in 2.
So in addition to my own goal, I want to make a difference to the young children affected. If you are able to make a donation, be it a few dollars or more, I would be very grateful.

My why
Thursday 3rd JulOver the last couple of weeks I have been training behind the scenes and setting my mind to take part in Run2Cure Neuroblastoma.
Run2Cure is a charity fun run and raises funds for the aggressive childhood cancer neuroblastoma. Neuroblastoma is a cancer affecting young children with the average age being just 2 years of age and survival rates for aggressive neuroblastoma being just 1 in 2.
As most of you would know, my own Nephew Zai Abdollahi was diagnosed with stage 4, high risk Neuroblastoma in March 2023. Zai has been a warrior and has shown nothing but resilience and pure strength throughout his treatment. 24th of June 2024 marked 12 months since Zai completed his front line treatment. This journey is still not over for Zai and for majority of children who have Neuroblastoma. Zai still remains on maintenance therapy for another 12 months and undergoes regular scans.
When you walk through the walls of a children’s cancer ward, you don’t look at the world the same way again. You look into parents eyes who are facing their worst nightmare watching their child battle for their life just wishing they could take the pain away from them. You see siblings and family members visiting holding back tears wishing for life as it used to be… the normal day to day chaos, the family dinners and Sunday bbqs. You over hear conversations that stick with you forever. Yet you see these kids smiling over the most simple things, waking up grateful for another day, showing you what true strength and resilience looks like.
I’m doing this run not just for my Nephew Zai’s future, but for all children battling against neuroblastoma. All children deserve a long life and a future bright full of hope. Every dollar raised for Run2Cure goes straight towards funding a new innovative research project which is focused on developing new treatments for high risk neuroblastoma, with the goal of saving young children’s lives. Childhood cancer is rare, and hard. Because of this, research into childhood cancer only gets around 10% of all government cancer research funding.
That's why it's up to people like you and me to raise the necessary funds for researchers and scientists to find better and safer treatments for this childhood cancer.
